It is with immense gratitude that we share on Feb 26th, 2025 we received the news we were hoping for, Kevin is coming home! We are pleased the appeal court ruled fairly and on the merits of the case and annulled the original judgement. After almost eight months we are grateful that Kevin is home in Canada and working to regain his health and pick up his life with family and Friends. 

 

There are so many people to thank who took an interest, wrote a letter or provided support, from family and some very special friends who offered support and advice, including a childhood friend who became a tireless advocate and mentor, to our MP and other officials, his doctors, business partners, the legal team, the "Bring Kevin home" group who invested not only their time but their hearts and the many many concerned Canadians across the country who fought advocated for Kevin, we appreciate the support, guidance and kindness.

Key Message, 


Kevin O'Rourke, a fellow Canadian citizen, has been in prison since July 2024 and given a life sentence in Dubai for carrying a low volume of CBD and medical marijuana, which he uses for pain management along with his medications for life threatening Addisons Disease. While in prison he contracted an antibiotic resistant infection and had two emergency surgeries and continues to have impacts from not getting the proper medications. He fared very poorly in prison and we feared that he may not make it home due to his illnesses and infections.

His December 25, 2024 appeal hearing resulted in another delay to Jan 8, 2025 and then a subsequent delay until Feb 5 and then Feb 26 this continues to be a nightmare for his family. 

We ask for help to get him back to Canada, as soon as possible. 

He is a good person and deserves your action to get him home. Kevin and his family are asking for fairness, compassion and to have Kevin returned to Canada.
